The Beginning of our Journey to Transform the Food System

Where are the “bright spots” of sustainable farming and food systems in Mexico?

In our recent Future Food Systems Summits, held in Puebla, Oaxaca, and Mexico City in November 2023, we brought together a diverse group of food system experts and change-makers. This summit provided a unique platform for networking, identifying common goals, and developing actionable plans for a brighter future.

Thank you for being a part of this transformative experience!

Highlights of the Summit:

As part of a participatory research project, we are offered a 2-day Future Food Systems Summit series for food system professionals and community members.

How can we work together to make just and sustainable food systems a reality?

Visioning workshop

Together, participants crafted an inspiring vision for the future food system, discussing the values they share that underlie this vision.

Two different workshops were held, one general visioning workshop and one with a group of actors focused on gender.

Knowledge Sharing and Networking Session

Participants shared their knowledge and experiences working toward more just and sustainable Mexican food systems. They also embarked on excursions to explore organisations actively working towards such solutions.

Stay Connected with Bright Spots Project

In the next step of the project, we are identifying indicators that will help us track progress towards the shared vision. We will then map the indicators to find “bright spots”.

As we collectively seek solutions to food system sustainability challenges, stay connected with the Bright Spots project. Your continued engagement is vital to build on the momentum generated during the Summits.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey towards a resilient and sustainable food future!
